The Zone of Death is situated inside a national park – the Yellowstone National Park. Aside from you can commit a perfect crime inside the grounds, ghosts haunt the area.

The Yellowstone National Park covers 3,468-square mile inside some portions of U.S States of Wyoming, Idaho and Montana. Named as the first national park in the US, the area is famous for its wildlife and geothermal features especially the Old Faithful Geyser.

In 2009, Dwayne Nelson admitted of killing three men inside the Yellowstone National Park. Yet, despite his confession, Nelson walked freely from the crime he committed. The murder happened inside the park known as the Zone of Death.

The crime transpired in the Idaho part of the park. While Nelson admitted to the crime, the Sixth Amendment of the Constitution supervened.

Michigan State University law professor Brian Kalt held that the Sixth Amendment entitles a federal crime defendant to a trial by jurors. The jurors should be from the state in which the crime was committed.

In the case of Nelson, he executed the killings in Idaho, a Population Zero.

When Atty. Kalt published “The Perfect Crime”, he sent copies to the government along with a draft of legislation. He feared that the Zone of Death could inspire anyone to commit murder. However, no-one responded to his letter.

Aside from the Perfect Crime inside the Yellowstone National Park, the area is home to several ghost hauntings.

The hauntings are not unusual since the park pose many threats such as wild animals, geysers and murderous people.  Restless spirits roam the area specially the Old Faithful Inn.

Stories circulated that a visitor awakened to a floating apparition at the foot of her bed. The specter was dressed in 1800s clothing.

A housekeeping employee shared that she looked at a fire extinguisher lifted on its own and turned itself upside down then dropped back to its original position. This happened in the 300 wing of Old Faithfull Inn.

A waitress recounted her encounter with a headless bride. She narrated that a woman in a wedding dress wandered across the Crow’s Nest. The old creaky floorboard made no sound. What scared the waitress the most was when she saw the bride with her head in her hands.
